A Level Students at The Bedford Sixth Form are celebrating this year’s results, with a pass rate of 92.1% , and 27% of A-Level grades at A*–B.

Subject areas with 100% pass rates include Art & Design, Drama & Theatre, Film Studies, French, Further Maths, Italian, Media Studies, Spanish, English Language & Literature, English Literature.

Students have secured places at universities across the country, including Russell Group universities such as Loughborough, Nottingham, Warwick, Oxford and Coventry Universities to study degrees in Law, Politics and International Studies, History and Forensic Psychology.

Kathryn Brindley Edwards, Principal of Sixth Forms at The Bedford College Group, praised the students’ efforts:

“These results reflect our students’ talent, determination, and the exceptional support they receive from our staff.”

Pheobe Brooks

Phoebe Brooks, 18 from Bedford achieved A, A, A in Ancient History, Media Studies and English Literature and Language and will now be progressing to study History at Oxford.

She said:

“The teachers here are incredible, and the environment and all the people here are just so lovely. They will definitely be the thing that I miss the most when I go. One of the best things though is the emotional investment everyone’s got in you and your studies. It’s just so supportive and everyone tries their hardest to help each other out.”

Amal Ahamed Mohamed Safrask

Amal Ahamed Mohamed Safrask, 18 from Bedford achieved A*, A, A in Law, Psychology and Economics and will now be taking a gap year and pursue a CLX qualification in a local law firm.

He added:

“It’s been really good here at the Sixth Form. It’s been one of the best experiences of my life with very supportive staff who made time for us as students”

Amal was part of the student council with responsibility for organising events and fostering peer bonding.

He added:

“ It was difficult at first to adapt to the culture and a more independent school life and study, coping with the shorter A level timeframe, and managing time, independence, and research.”

Sherelle Weeks, 18, from Bedford achieved A, A, A in Law, Psychology and Sociology and will now be progressing to study Law at the University of Nottingham, with ambitions of becoming a criminal defence barrister. Sherelle was Student President for 2025/26 in addition to her studies too.

She said:

“My experience at the sixth form has been wonderful. The teachers are excellent and very supportive. They push you to do your best while also giving you the independence to take responsibility for your learning. The student environment is positive and encouraging, which made my time there enjoyable and motivating.

One of the best things about studying here is the level of maturity with which students are treated. You’re expected to put in the work and manage your time, but you also get a lot of freedom and support from staff who help you achieve your goals. That balance of independence and support really helped me thrive.”

Mohammed Sow, 18, from Bedford achieved A, A, A in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and will now be progressing to City St Georges University of London to study Optometry.

He said:

“My experience at the sixth form was really enjoyable. I studied hard throughout my time here and the teachers were always very helpful and supportive.

“The best thing about studying at the sixth form was spending time in the library, which provided a great place to focus and work towards my goals. The support from staff and the positive learning environment helped me achieve the results I wanted and prepare for the next stage of my education.”
