If you have your sights set firmly on university and beyond, The Bedford Sixth Form offers an exciting experience for you to discover after your GCSEs. Come along to our Open Day to talk to tutors and find out more about the subjects we offer. Our Student Services team will also be on hand to offer support on a wide range of topics, from transport to financial support. You'll also be able to tour our beautiful campus and see the amazing facilities we have.

Parking: there is limited parking at The Bedford Sixth Form. However there is parking available in Allhallows Car Park, Brace Street, Bedford MK40 1LX and on-street parking in the surrounding area.

» What can I do at an Open Day?

There’s so much to see and do at our Open Days. Here are a few suggestions of what to do and when…

  • Make your way to the main entrance where you will be greeted by our staff

  • Collect your Open Day guide and our latest prospectus

  • If you have pre-registered simply sign in at the registration desks. If you haven’t, don’t worry, you will just need to fill in a registration form 
  • Explore the facilities, speaking to tutors to find out more information about the subjects you are interested in

  • Meet one of our student ambassadors who will show you around if you wish 

  • Enjoy some refreshments in our Grand Hall 

  • Meet our Student Services team in the Hub who can answer all of your questions, such as whether you might be eligible for financial support, how to get to College from your home and how to apply for a place on a course

  • Ready to apply? We have staff on hand to assist you in applying on the night – simply head to the Library. Or you can take the information away with you and apply online when you’re ready.

What can I do at an Open Day?
Whether you’ve already applied or have no idea what you want to study yet, our Open Days are perfect for you! You can get a real feel of student life by exploring our campus and joining area specific tours. Tutors will also be on hand to explain in depth about courses and our Student Services team will also be there to offer advice on careers, transport, finance, wellbeing and more.

Is parking free?
Parking is free, however there is limited car parking available on site.

What if I have specific access requirements?
The majority of areas within the Sixth Form are accessible to everyone. If you have any concerns, please ring us on 01234 291291.

Do I have to be there for the duration of the event?
Of course not! You can drop in at any time and stay for as long or as little as you wish.

How do I apply for a course?
Staff are on hand to help you with your application at our Library. Of course, if you prefer, you can also apply online when you get home.

Do I have to pre-register to be able to come?
Everyone is welcome at our Open Days whether you’ve pre-registered or not! By pre-registering you get the benefit of beating the queues as you won’t have to fill out a registration card when you arrive.

Does my entire family have to pre-register?
No, only prospective students are required to register to attend an Open Day.

» Ways to travel to The Bedford Sixth Form

By bus
Many of the bus routes covering Bedford, Luton and the wider local area terminate at Bedford bus station which is just a two minute walk away from The Bedford Sixth Form. With routes running as frequently as every 12 minutes, it’s the ideal way to make your journey to our Sixth Form.

By foot
Take a stroll to The Bedford Sixth Form – we’re located right in the centre of town.

By cycle
Good for the environment, good for you – Bedford has a network of signposted cycle paths and designated cycle lanes, and we also provide safe and secure cycle racks to store your bike.

By train
Bedford’s mainline station is just a ten-minute walk from The Bedford Sixth Form, with frequent rail services running between local towns, villages and stations including:

We provide a safe drop-off area for students getting a lift to the Sixth Form by car, however parking is not available on site.
