English Literature A-Level

The study of literature at A-Level is a lively and invigorating experience, involving discussion, debate and high-powered thinking. As this course progresses you will become more confident and develop your individual opinions and ideas.

“In particular I have found the English literature course enjoyable. We’ve been focusing on World War I which has opened up my eyes to a whole host of topics including the rise of the women’s movement and Irish independence.  We’ve also spent time studying the work of poets such as Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen.  I have developed my analytical and writing skills significantly since I started the course, which is also helping me with essays in other subjects such as sociology.”
